Why is it called Avalon?

The name ‘Avalon’ in fact is related to the Proto-Celtic word “abal” meaning apple. The inhabitants of the island were also said to have very long lifespans. After King Arthur was mortally injured at the Battle of Camlann while fighting Mordred, legends say he was placed on a barge which took him to the island of Avalon.

What are the roads of Avalon?

The Roads of Avalon are a network of paths through the ancient kingdom of Avalon, opening up new opportunities for travel and transport, exploration, and placing Hideouts. The area outside the actual Road structure is called the Wilderness of Avalon, and includes forest paths, resource sites, Avalonian camps, and Randomized Dungeon Entrances.

When did the Avalon come out?

The Avalon was a new model introduced in February 1994 at the Chicago International Auto Show and launched in late 1994 for the 1995 model year. Development began in 1990 under the 299T project code (ending in 1993), with the design phase concluding in 1991 with internal approval of the final design.

Why is Avalon so idyllic?

The idyllic nature of Avalon also might reflect the ancient pre-Christian British and Irish view of the afterlife. The Irish and British believed that islands could be portals to the otherworld where souls of the dead dwelled in eternal youth and eternal bliss.
